Iraqi Data Center Build, Basra Iraq

We are approximately half way on the completion of our project for the Government of Basra. The scope of the project is to provide technology consulting for the infrastructure of the data center that will provide the servers for some security features of the City of Basra. We have been responsible for the sourcing of critical equipment including the UPS, PDUs, In-row Cooling Units, Roof-top Condensers, and the cabinets that will house the 500kW requirement. Working in Iraq has been challenging due to the complexity of shipping equipment into Iraq and the port of Um Qasr. There are few options for importing into the Basra port and the other options involve utilizing trusted sources for logistics in Turkey, Dubai, and Kuwait.

Update: Schneider Electric equipment is scheduled for pickup next week. This is very exciting and looks like if all goes well we will have the container in Um Qasr in 40-45 days. We will be training the 40-security officers on the equipment in Beirut very soon.
